::: What is Rotary?

Rotary is a worldwide organization of business and professional leaders committed to providing humanitarian service, high ethical standards in business, and creating global goodwill.

As the world's first service organization, Rotary has since 1905 been helping those in need and uniting people througout the world. Individual Rotary clubs adopt and support the programs of Rotary International and the Rotary Foundation. Among its many contributions to humanitarian efforts, Rotary is the world's largest private provider of college scholarships. Its PolioPlus program hasimmunized more than one billion children in developing nations against polio with the goal of eradicating this disease by 2005. Today, there are approximately 1.2 million Rotarians, both men and women, belonging to more than 30,000 Rotary clubs in 166 countries. One of the joys of being a Rotarian is being able to drop in on a Rotary meeting in almost any country in the world and being greeted by friends.

::: About Our Club

The Rotary Club of Orlando was chartered in 1920 by some of a young Orlando's most involved businessmen. Today our club boasts a membership of nearly 250 men and women actively dedicated to fostering service above self in our community.

::: How Can I Become a Member?

The Rotary Club of Orlando welcomes prospective members who want to make a difference in our community. Membership in Rotary is by invitation. Prospective members attend three meetings with a member/sponsor before being submitted for membership.
